Benefits of using headsets in business communication

01 January  2019

With each passing day, it is noticeable that in the business world there is a continuous search of companies to increase the profitability of their operations. They seek to obtain better results with the structure they already have or through low investments, optimizing administrative and productive processes in addition to improving the quality and efficiency of the employees' work, empowering them and making them more involved and effective in their assignments.

The first headset appeared in 1910 in California, United States, at Stanford University. At the time, the invention of the headset was not seen as something that could revolutionize the way of communicating via telephone, but as the years went by, and especially during the First World War, the importance of using headsets got more attention, especially when they were used in fighter planes to communicate with the command bases.

From then on, the use of headsets intensified, and started to be deployed in government agencies and, subsequently, being marketed to the public as a type of telephone set that could replace the conventional way of communicating, bringing benefits to users through their use, such as increased productivity and a significant decrease in cases of back and neck injuries caused by poor posture when talking on conventional telephones.

Current studies prove that professionals who use headsets to communication have their productivity increased by up to 43%. Not by chance, numerous companies have started to adopt headsets in order to obtain better results in their businesses. Fundamentally, the use of a headset allows the user to perform several tasks while talking on the phone. In other words, the user becomes a multi-tasking professional, adding more value to his or her work, effectively contributing to the profitability of the company's business, producing more in less time.

In addition to increased productivity, this same study on the benefits of using headsets showed a decrease in cases of physical injury and absence from work for professionals using this type of device. The headset is designed to transmit and receive audio in the best possible way, with high sound quality within international standards and norms, providing extreme comfort, well-being, and safety to users. It was also found that professionals who use headsets are more willing during the entire working day, which also contributes to better company results.

Nowadays, not only call center companies opt for the use of headsets to communicate. We have noticed a significant increase in the number of companies, from the most diverse segments, using them not only in their customer service areas but also in other administrative departments, meeting the needs for analog, digital, VoIP, and wireless applications.

Especially in Brazil, in the last five years there has been an increase of more than 700% in the number of sales of headsets for use in offices and home-offices. Professionals in the Telecom sector estimate that in the next two years the use of headsets will gain even more strength, accounting for 20% of the entire market for communication devices.
